Ballet
We offer ballet classes that are carefully designed to incorporate both classical and lyrical styles. Our instructors recognize the importance of ballet as a core element of dance and strive to ensure that students grasp this concept in a fun and engaging manner.
Our classes are structured around the Cecchitti method of barre, centre, and corner work. This method has been used for generations and is renowned for developing a strong foundation in ballet technique. We believe that this method is the most effective way for our students to gain the skills necessary to become accomplished dancers.
We believe in nurturing talent and building confidence through constructive feedback and guidance. We do not believe in the traditional testing approach, as it puts too much pressure on our students and can hinder their progress. Instead, we focus on developing our students' skills through regular practice and performance opportunities.
Tap
We take pride in our tap classes which are rooted in the traditional Broadway show tap style. Our instructors aim to instill a deep understanding of the fundamentals of tap dancing by teaching our students the importance of rhythm, musicality, and terminology. Our tap classes are designed to enhance the creativity and musicality of our students while instilling the essential technical skills to help them master the art of tap dancing.
We believe that mastering tap dancing is not only about the physical aspect of it, but also about understanding the language and the history behind it. That is why our tap classes work on a graded system that allows our students to progress through various levels, based on their technical proficiency and knowledge of tap dancing. Through this structured approach, our students gain a sense of accomplishment and motivation to push themselves to the next level.
Jazz
Our jazz classes incorporate a variety of styles, from classic and Broadway to hip hop, pop, funk, and lyrical. By exposing our students to different forms of music and movement, they are able to broaden their dance repertoire and develop a deeper understanding of the art form.
Our instructors place emphasis on technique and musicality, teaching students the importance of rhythm and terminology while also encouraging them to explore their own creativity and individuality. Through a combination of structured exercises, our jazz classes provide a fun and dynamic learning experience that promotes growth and self-expression.
Acrobat
Our acrobat classes are designed to help students develop strength, flexibility, and basic gymnastics skills while also incorporating dance elements. Our instructors focus on providing a well-rounded experience that includes not only acrobatic techniques but also jazz dance. In fact, we require students who register for acrobat classes to also enroll in a jazz class to help them fully develop their skills and make the most out of their training. Tricks and technique are taught by Lauren who is our resident gymnastics coach from Gymnasitcs Energy!
With our unique approach, students are able to gain a solid foundation in acrobatics and dance, enabling them to take their abilities to the next level.
